Day 5

Day 5

I’m chalking today up as another day of improvement. Most tubes and dressings have been removed and Rob’s down to just an IV. His blood levels came up a smidge and the hope is that they will continue to come up on their own (without further transfusion).

He is still working at getting some deeper breaths in and started nebulizing this morning in hopes that may help break things up a bit. Really, the only risk to his health today was when he read to me from the South Shore Medical Center Newsletter about the “Weigh to Go” weight management program and asked if it was something I might be interested in.

All-in-all, he’s in great shape and is ready to come home whenever they say the word. Based on his history with Coumadin and how he reacts to it, he is guessing that he will reach the desired “thinness” (INR) Thursday or Friday.

Thanks again to everyone for all your support and good wishes during this time. It has been a huge source of strength for all of us!
